The Corrupted Master Controller is the Genesis Part 1 ascension encounter; higher difficulties advance survivor progression in addition to unlocking Tekgrams.
Higher difficulties include the Tek / engram unlocks from lower difficulties unless the live game specifically handles that encounter differently.
